How to install ubuntu 8.10 using wubi installer

Checking system requirements
In order to install ubuntu you will need to have a computer with at least those specifications: 
Memory 256 MB memory
Harddisk Space 5 GB harddisk space
Operating System Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista

Preparing files before installation
For installing Ubuntu using our guide you will first need to download ubuntu (version 8.10) and wubi. In order to do this you will need to follow those steps:
   
Downloading ubuntu 8.10
You can download ubuntu from:
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

NOTE: Downloading may take from 30 minutes up to a few hours depending on your internet connection speed.

Downloading wubi installer
You can download wubi installer from:
http://wubi-installer.org/

Installation Part 1

1. Run wubi.exe from where you downloaded the software in the above step

2. Select the installation drive, where you want to install ubuntu. You can select what partition you like.
3. Installation size, 15GB will be the best for you but in case you don't have that much space you can also select a smaller value from the list
4. Desktop environment, select Ubuntu unless you want to install something else.
5. Language, select what languge you would like to use with ubuntu.
6. Username, you will have to use a username in order to have access to your ubuntu installation, select something easy to remember.
7. Password, select a secure and easy to remember password. Type it 2 times in the blank spaces in order to verify if it's the same.
NOTE: You can not install ubuntu without selecting a password.
8. Press Install.
9. The installation progress should now begin.

10. The installation should finish in a few minutes and you will see something like this:

11. Click Finish
NOTE: This will reboot your computer so make sure you save all your work before pressing the finish button.

Installation Part 2

1. The system will restart, when you see the Windows Boot Manager select Ubuntu.
2. Ubuntu will now load.
3. After loading you will see a window with the progress of the installation of Ubuntu
4. When the installation reaches 100% it will restart your system.
5. Select Ubuntu from the Windows Boot Manager.
6. Ubuntu will not load, don't be afraid of some white text over black background, everything is right!
7. When asked for a username enter the username you used at the installation (step 6 at installation part 1) and press enter.
8. You will be asked for a password, enter the password you used at the installation (step 7 at installation part 1) and press enter.
9. Ubuntu should now play a sound that will confirm your login.
10. Welcome to Ubuntu!

    Although you say 'Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista' is a requirement for installing Ubuntu, which makes Ubuntu sound like it is a Windows application.

  2. i have followed this guideline, but when i'm in installatin part two, after i select ubuntu when the first reboot then i stuck in the something like command page which i could not do anything but reset for 30 minutes. Did i make any mistake? what should i do?
