How to terminate an application using Terminal in Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex
Every application crashes from time to time, and you know how frustrating it is not being able to exit the aplication. Well, not really! It's easyer than you think:
How to exit an application using Terminal:
1) Run Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal)
2) Type:
xkill
3) Move your cursor and click on the application you want to exit. This will instantly exit it!
can't get this to work on my 8.10 install.... get the message 'Select the window whose client you wish to kill with button 1....' hit a window and nothing happens
Well right click on a panel and select add to panel and search item name "Force Quit" add it to panel and click it then click on an application to quit it!
