  2. Other than cloud optimisation, anything else that will stand out in Karmic?

  4. Maybe ext4 will be the default FS for Ubuntu 9.10. Expect btrfs to be supported in 9.10. By then btrfs should be mature enough for Ubuntu to use. The kernel will either be 2.6.30 or 2.6.31. There will be many more features in Karmic Koala so stay tuned for more details.

  5. Plymouth will be in Ubuntu 9.10. The ATI and nVidia proprietary binary blobs don't support KMS for Plymouth so we need to wait. Nouveau and the open source ATI driver should support it. 2.6.30 and 2.6.31 may support proprietary nvidia and ATI KMS but who knows when it will actually happen. Once it does then Plymouth will be ready for Ubuntu.
