Order your free Ubuntu 9.04 CDs

The Shipit service from Ubuntu is now taking orders for the upcoming release of Ubuntu which will be Jaunty Jackalope, of course, free of charge.

As you might know, Ubuntu 9.04 will get to us on April 23rd, that is 7 days from the time of writing this article. It will include a new notification system, GNOME 2.26 desktop environment, faster booting time and of course, many updates.

  1. Have you read anything about the ext4 file system and if they will have it fixed for the final release on the 23rd? The ext4 file system boots in a virtual machine in about 1/3 the time the ext3 file system virtual machine boots, but I have lost data in it twice.

  3. I can't remember where I read it, but it seems that ext4 is not 100 percent reliable... Not sure at all, but I'm looking foeward to testing it, that's for sure...

  4. Just can't wait to get a glimpse of this latest version. With the features of Hardy Heron I just can't imagine what Jaunty is capable of turning my machine into... kudos for the good work fellows
