Hello!!! i have problem installing google chrome at ubuntu 9.04 from any website...i have the same problem with other programs ... when i am going to istall it is saying the following:
Software index is broken

This is a major failure of your software management system. Please check for broken packages with synaptic, check the file permissions and correctness of the file '/etc/apt/sources.list' and reload the software information with: 'sudo apt-get update' and 'sudo apt-get install -f'.

Cannot get either of:
google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
google-chrome-unstable_current_amd64.deb
to install on 9.10 (Karmic) because of:
Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libasound2 (>> 1.0.22)

Version 1.0.20 seems to be the highest available under 9.10 (Karmic).
Is it necessary to build version 1.0.22 from source?
Or might Google fix Chrome to work with 1.0.20?

Like any other Google Chrome version, it's based on Chromium. It's still Chromium but with some little touches from Google.
